WAYANAD

Wayanad, the green paradise is nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats, forming the border world of the greener part of Kerala. Edakkal Caves

Edakkal caves are well known for its pictorial depictions (cave art), which are thought to be of 6000 B C. To achieve the hollows, one needs to trek through the Ambukutty Mala. It will take around 45 minutes to climb the hill and you will never get baffled in your outing to these historical caves.

Soochippara (Pinrock ) Waterfalls

The Soochipara or the Pinrock waterfalls is a mesmerizing place to visit. The water of this three tired waterfall falls from a height of around 200 meters. This falls are surrounded by Deciduous, Evergreen and Montane forests. This is a place where both the trek and visuals are surreal.

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

Established in 1973, the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is contiguous to the protected area network of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka on the north east and Mudumalai of Tamil Nadu on the southeast. Rich in bio-diversity, the sanctuary is an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

Chembra Peak

Chembra is the highest peak in Wayanad district and lives up to its billing of being a picturesque location. It has managed to maintain its pristine nature over the years. Situated 2,100 m above sea level, this peak offers a breath-taking view of rare flora and fauna.

Bamboo Forests

The Nilgiri Biosphere Region additionally reaches out to an extensive extent of teak timberlands, bamboo trenches and overwhelms. A perfect safari area, deer, buffalo, cheetah and wild bears are among the spotted creatures here.

Phantom Rock

The towering Phantom Rock and its surroundings are popular among nature lovers and photographers. The rock formation, which resembles a skull, is a unique example of nature's artistry. It is a great place to relax and reflect on the beauty of the landscape.
